There are a couple of things you can try; if your receiver has a detachable antenna you can purchase a <a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/products/high-gain-omni-directional-wireless-antenna?_pos=2&amp;_sid=0de7b3526&amp;_ss=r" rel="noreferrer">7DBz antenna</a> which comes with a cable and mount the antenna outside.</span></div><div dir="ltr"><span style="font-size: 16px;">If the receiver is situated next to a window this is usually worse than a wall, as glass is very dense and will block the signal, so try moving the receiver away from the window.</span></div><p dir="ltr">&#xA0;</p><p dir="ltr">You can also take a look at <a dir="ltr" href="https://green-feathers.gorgias.help/en-US/getting-the-best-range-from-your-wireless-cameras-269159">this guide</a> for some extra tips.</p><p><br></p><h4 id="Camera-seems-unresponsive-or-dead">Camera seems unresponsive or dead</h4><p dir="ltr">Is there&apos;s a red LED on the receiver box (the LEDs on the camera are infra-red so cannot be seen by the human eye), and if the camera gets warm after it&apos;s been plugged in for a while you can be sure both power supplies are working.</p><p>Check that both the camera and the receiver are set to the same channel. If the camera still seems dead, please contact our support team and let them know what you&apos;ve tried so far.</p><p><br></p><h4 dir="ltr" id="Doesn&apos;t-connect-to-WiFi">Doesn&apos;t connect to WiFi</h4><p dir="ltr">The wireless camera kit cannot connect to WiFi, it is analogue and so it can only connect to a TV or to a PC (<a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/products/usb-video-capture-device?_pos=1&amp;_sid=eb39a569e&amp;_ss=r" rel="noreferrer">if you use a USB adapter</a>).</p><p dir="ltr">If you are keen to be able to view the camera feed online and share it with people, you have two options. You can use a USB capture device and <a dir="ltr" href="https://green-feathers.gorgias.help/en-US/live-stream-your-analogue-bird-box-camera-to-youtube-269161">this guide to set the camera up for live streaming via YouTube</a>, or you can return the camera and swap it for one of <a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/collections/hd-bird-box-cameras/products/wifi-bird-box-camera" rel="noreferrer">our WiFi</a> or <a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/collections/hd-bird-box-cameras/products/hd-ip-bird-box-camera" rel="noreferrer">wired cameras</a> that can connect to an internet router. These cameras can be viewed on a computer or mobile phone without the need for additional equipment.&#xA0;</p><p dir="ltr">If you have any questions about setting up the live stream contact us, or if you would like to exchange the kit for a camera that can connect to an internet router, just give our sales team a ring on <span class="mw31Ze">0117 325 8128</span> and quote your original order number/invoice and they will be able to arrange an exchange for you.&#xA0;</p><p><br></p><h4 id="Lights-don&apos;t-turn-on">Lights don&apos;t turn on</h4><p dir="ltr">The LEDs on this camera are infra-red, so the light they emit isn&apos;t visible to the human eye. They will automatically activate once the light levels drop enough (this is why the camera goes black and white), and you&apos;ll be able to see the infra-red light they emit when viewing the camera feed on your TV.</p><p><br></p><h4 id="Cannot-connect-to-TV">Cannot connect to TV</h4><p>If your TV does not have yellow and white connectors, you can buy an RCA to HDMI Video Adaptor from us which will connect the camera to your TV in one go.</p><h3 id="-1"><br></h3><h4 id="Interfering-with-TV">Interfering with TV</h4><p>When the receiver is positioned close to an indoor TV antenna, it can cause interference with the TV signal. Grab the little antenna included in the kit and screw that onto the side. Connect the power supply and insert the yellow AV cable plug into VIDEO1 and the white AV cable into AUDIO1.</p><p><img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/kREQL2bPK50xMl8n/hc/qgaXzxaQqpxvDWOp/2025070211-bde52095-fb6c-4202-a2dc-f96243830cf5-screenshot%202025-07-02%20at%2012.02.27.png" style="width: 514px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib"></p><p>Before we go any further, it&apos;s a good time to check the channel selection. You want to make sure that the camera and the receiver are on the same channel. We recommend starting at channel 1, if you run into any interference issues further on you can always change this.&#xA0;</p><p><strong>Please note:</strong> <span style="font-size: 15px;">The channel selector on the camera can be very fiddly, we recommend using a small object like a small screwdriver or a pin to move them back and forth.</span></p><p><br></p><p><img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/kREQL2bPK50xMl8n/hc/qgaXzxaQqpxvDWOp/2025070211-3f636bc1-6d73-4c93-b652-fa54a674b0cc-screenshot%202025-07-02%20at%2011.58.39.png" style="width: 575px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib"></p><p>After you have checked the channels are correct we can connect the receiver to your television. You will have the white and yellow RCA cables to connect the receiver to the television, most TV&apos;s do not have a standard RCA input anymore, but if it does it&apos;s as easy as connecting the corresponding colours.&#xA0;</p><p>If you do not have the RCA connections, we do offer an AC to HDMI converter for this reason. You just need to power the converter using a mini USB cable, connect the corresponding cables to the audio/video inputs and plug the HDMI cable into the output and into the TV.</p><p><img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/kREQL2bPK50xMl8n/hc/qgaXzxaQqpxvDWOp/2025070213-8de82536-e8b1-4b73-a154-0ba0dedceb55-av2hdmidiagram.jpg" style="width: 692px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib"></p><p>Wether you have connected it straight to the television or you are using the converter, you should now be able to go to &apos;source&apos; on your TV remote and go to the correct channel.</p><p dir="ltr" id="isPasted">Different manufacturers list the RCA inputs under various names. Commonly used names are AV1, AV2, AV3 or EXT1, EXT2, EXT3. Some manufacturers will name it by its correct technical name which is Composite. If you&apos;re using an HDMI converter you need to select the HDMI channel.
