This guide will help you troubleshoot the cause of your Wi-Fi bird box camera going offline, and hopefully help you get it back online. We will be checking everything that is involved in making the camera work, starting in the house then moving towar

<p data-identifyelement="481" dir="ltr"><br></p><p data-identifyelement="481" dir="ltr">This guide will help you troubleshoot the cause of your Wi-Fi bird box camera going offline, and hopefully help you get it back online.&#xA0;</p><p data-identifyelement="482" dir="ltr"><br data-identifyelement="483"></p><p data-identifyelement="484" dir="ltr">We will be checking everything that is involved in making the camera work, starting in the house then moving towards the camera.</p><p data-identifyelement="484" dir="ltr"><br></p><p data-identifyelement="484" dir="ltr">Sometimes, the simplest advice applies; if you have a problem that doesn&apos;t seem to be caused by a physical fault, just turning the camera off and on again can resolve the issue.</p><p data-identifyelement="485" dir="ltr"><br data-identifyelement="486"></p><h2 data-identifyelement="487" dir="ltr" id="check-your-internet">Check your internet</h2><ul data-identifyelement="488"><li data-identifyelement="489" dir="ltr">Make sure the Wi-Fi router, Wi-Fi extender, or Wi-Fi bridge that the camera is connected to is still on; most people use Wi-Fi devices so it is normally quite obvious if your Wi-Fi router has been turned off or stopped working.</li><li data-identifyelement="490" dir="ltr">Make sure the Wi-Fi router still has an internet connection; if your phone can connect to the Wi-Fi router but you get a message saying &quot;no internet connection&quot; you will be unable to view the camera unless connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera.</li><li data-identifyelement="491" dir="ltr">If you have recently replaced your internet router or reset your current one, you will need to reset the camera and re-connect it.</li></ul><h2 data-identifyelement="492" dir="ltr" id="check-your-phonetabletcomputer">Check your phone/tablet/computer</h2><ul data-identifyelement="493"><li data-identifyelement="494" dir="ltr">Make sure the device you&apos;re using to view the camera is still connected to the internet.</li><li data-identifyelement="495" dir="ltr">Try viewing the camera on a different device; if this works then the issue likely lies with the device you were using previously.</li></ul><h2 data-identifyelement="496" dir="ltr" id="check-the-connections">Check the connections</h2><ul data-identifyelement="497"><li data-identifyelement="498" dir="ltr">Check that the power supply is working; if possible use a voltmeter to test it or use it to power another device that uses the same type of power supply (12V, 1A, 2.1mm jack size).</li><li data-identifyelement="499" dir="ltr">If you are using an extension lead, inspect it to check it hasn&apos;t been cut at any point along the length.</li><li data-identifyelement="500" dir="ltr">Check the power jacks on the power supply, the extension lead (if you have one), and the power input on the camera to see if they are corroded or rusted at all; if so then try cleaning them and gently use some wool wire if you have any.</li><li data-identifyelement="500" dir="ltr">Try the power supply for your camera in a different plug socket.</li><li data-identifyelement="500" dir="ltr">Connect your camera to the power supply without an extension lead if you are using one.</li></ul><h2 data-identifyelement="501" dir="ltr" id="check-the-camera">Check the camera</h2><ul data-identifyelement="502"><li data-identifyelement="503" dir="ltr">Touch the camera to check if it is warm; after being on for about ten minutes it should be noticeably warm, if not then this is an indication the camera is not receiving power.</li><li data-identifyelement="504" dir="ltr">Check the reset button on the camera and make sure it isn&apos;t rusted or broken; if the button malfunctions due to water damage (among other reasons) it may become stuck and cause the camera to continuously reboot. Try loosening the button by pressing it repeatedly or clean out the area around the reset button.</li><li data-identifyelement="504" dir="ltr">Check the antenna for damage or if it&apos;s been pecked at by any birds, and give it a gentle tug to make sure it is still attached to the circuit board. The antenna should look like this if it is not damaged:</li></ul><p><br></p><h2 data-identifyelement="505" dir="ltr" id="try-resetting-and-setting-up-again">Try resetting and setting up again</h2><ul data-identifyelement="506"><li data-identifyelement="507" dir="ltr">If the camera is still receiving power and seems to be working properly, but does not connect to the Wi-Fi router still, it is a good idea to try resetting the camera and setting it up again. There are a couple of things you can try; if your receiver has a detachable antenna you can purchase a <a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/products/high-gain-omni-directional-wireless-antenna?_pos=2&amp;_sid=0de7b3526&amp;_ss=r" rel="noreferrer">7DBz antenna</a> which comes with a cable and mount the antenna outside.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">If the receiver is situated next to a window this is usually worse than a wall, as glass is very dense and will block the signal, so try moving the receiver away from the window.</div><p dir="ltr">&#xA0;</p><p dir="ltr">You can also take a look at <a dir="ltr" href="https://green-feathers.gorgias.help/en-US/getting-the-best-range-from-your-wireless-cameras-269159">this guide</a> for some extra tips.</p><p><br></p><h3 id="Camera-seems-unresponsive-or-dead">Camera seems unresponsive or dead</h3><p dir="ltr">Is there&apos;s a red LED on the receiver box (the LEDs on the camera are infra-red so cannot be seen by the human eye), and if the camera gets warm after it&apos;s been plugged in for a while you can be sure both power supplies are working.</p><p><br></p><p dir="ltr">Check that both the camera and the receiver are set to the same channel. If the camera still seems dead, please contact our support team and let them know what you&apos;ve tried so far.</p><p><br></p><h3 dir="ltr" id="Doesn&apos;t-connect-to-WiFi">Doesn&apos;t connect to WiFi</h3><p dir="ltr">The wireless camera kit (NC701G) cannot connect to WiFi, it is analogue and so it can only connect to a TV or to a PC (<a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/products/usb-video-capture-device?_pos=1&amp;_sid=eb39a569e&amp;_ss=r" rel="noreferrer">if you use a USB adapter</a>).</p><div dir="ltr"><br></div><p dir="ltr">If you are keen to be able to view the camera feed online and share it with people, you have two options. You can use a USB capture device and <a dir="ltr" href="https://green-feathers.gorgias.help/en-US/live-stream-your-analogue-bird-box-camera-to-youtube-269161">this guide to set the camera up for live streaming via YouTube</a>, or you can return the camera and swap it for one of <a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/collections/hd-bird-box-cameras/products/wifi-bird-box-camera" rel="noreferrer">our WiFi</a> or <a dir="ltr" href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/collections/hd-bird-box-cameras/products/hd-ip-bird-box-camera" rel="noreferrer">wired cameras</a> that can connect to an internet router. They will automatically activate once the light levels drop enough (this is why the camera goes black and white), and you&apos;ll be able to see the infra-red light they emit when viewing the camera feed on your TV.</p><p><br></p><h3 id="Cannot-connect-to-TV">Cannot connect to TV</h3><p style="line-height: 1.38;"><span style="font-size: 13px; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); text-decoration: none; white-space: pre-wrap;">If your TV does not have yellow and white connectors, you can buy an <a href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/products/rca-to-hdmi-video-adaptor">RCA to HDMI Video Adaptor</a> from us which will connect the camera to your TV in one go.</span><span style="font-size: 13px;"><a href="https://www.green-feathers.co.uk/products/rca-to-hdmi-video-adaptor" rel="noreferrer" style="text-decoration:none;"></a>&#xA0;</span></p><p style="line-height: 1.38;"><br></p><h3 id="Interfering-with-TV">Interfering with TV</h3><p>When the receiver is positioned close to an indoor TV antenna, it can cause interference with the TV signal. policy which has come into effect from 29 April 2024. This policy is designed to help improve security levels of products and requires companys to have an easy method for people to report vulnerabilitys when found and get updates on how long and when it will be fixed.</p><p>Our cameras are manufactured and sold for use in Bird Boxes, Hedgehog boxes, gardens and any wildlife setting. We are providing our customers with a digital window to the wild allowing you to see what is happening around you day or night.</p><p id="isPasted">We provide a 3 year warranty on the hardware of our cameras, this covers manufacturing faults or the camera failing in this time period. If the camera has been physically been damaged which caused it to fail this wouldn&#x2019;t be covered. If a security flaw or fault is found within the firmware we provide a 3 year warranty on this as well.</p><p>Security protect period Range: &#xA0; If a security vulnerability is discovered during the support period, all issues falling within the scope of support will be addressed. We will acknowledge receipt of your report within 2 working days of it being sent. You will then receive regular updates on the progress of the report until it is resolved or further information is available. We aim to resolve the reported vulnerability as quickly as possible while ensuring the fix does not introduce any new vulnerabilitys or break existing functionality. We will update you with a resolution timeframe as soon as it is know.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
